Manson Trojans sweep Okanogan Bulldogs 3-0 in Varsity, JV, and C-team match-ups

The Manson Trojans showcased their prowess in their season opener, dominating the Okanogan Bulldogs in a 3-0 victory with set scores of 26-24, 25-7, and 25-13.

The JV team also excelled, sweeping the Bulldogs 3-0 with scores of 25-7, 25-6, and 25-8. The C Team rounded off the night with a 3-0 victory, with set scores of 25-9, 25-13, and 25-10.

Varsity Highlights:

  • Stella Petersen led the charge with a stellar performance, serving 18/20 with 4 aces, 16 kills, and 3 digs.
  • Phinley Teague contributed significantly with 27 assists, serving 10/10 with 4 digs and 1 kill.
  • Bailey Evans delivered strong offensive play with 6 kills, serving 5/6 and adding 2 digs.
  • Camille Hutton showcased her defensive skills with 3 digs, 1 solo block, and 4 kills while serving 11/12 with 1 ace.
  • Genesis Torres was solid in the back row with 16 digs and served 8/8 with 1 ace.
  • Kayden Koth served 9/9 with 4 digs, and Karly Naranjo added 3 kills, 1 dig, and 1 block assist.
  • Brynn Williams contributed with 2 block assists and 3 kills.

Junior Varsity Highlights:

  • Ayda Jones served 9/10 with 3 aces, 1 kill, and 2 digs.
  • Kailani Cruz stood out with 15 assists, 2 aces, and 4 digs, serving 3/3.
  • Mallory Shumway had 9 kills, 3 aces, and 4 digs while serving 9/11.
  • Abby Williams was perfect from the service line with 13/13, adding 2 kills and 5 digs.
  • Aaliyah Torres also excelled with 26/26 serving, 3 aces, 11 digs, and 2 assists.

C Team Highlights:

  • Ali Mendoza led with an impressive 14 aces from 19/20 serves.
  • Jasmin Venegas served 10/11 with 6 aces, and Brenda Villa contributed with 1 ace from 10/11 serves.
  • Sabine Izazaga and Maria Villasenor also made significant contributions with 5 and 3 aces, respectively.

The Trojans’ performance across all levels was a promising start to the season. They are set to continue their campaign with a non-league matchup against Brewster tomorrow (Wednesday, September 11). The JV and C Teams will begin at 5pm, with the Varsity match following at 6:30pm.
