November 5th General Election moves “countywide”
information released
State Senator Brad Hawkins who is seeking the Chelan County Commissioner District 3 seat being vacated by Chelan’s Tiffany Gering said he was “grateful” for Tuesday night’s vote count.
Hawkins said, “I’m very grateful for the support of the District 3 voters. People have been very encouraging since I announced my run for County Commissioner, and I’m so glad it has translated so positively in the vote count. I really appreciate it.”
Hawkins is known for his good communication and for putting public service before politics. Along the campaign trail this summer, he has said, “I pride myself in being a good communicator, sharing facts, working effectively, and getting results. I have gained valuable experience working with local officials, business leaders, and community groups as well as state and federal officials. I hope to put all of that experience to use for the people of Chelan County.”
County Commissioner Priorities
Hawkins’ priorities for county commissioner include funding public safety needs, continuing to grow and diversify the county economy, maintaining a balanced budget, and mitigating growing property taxes. He has worked on various wildfire reduction, affordable housing, agriculture, budgeting and natural resource issues that will be helpful to the role.
He said, “Serving as a county commissioner is a challenging and complex job, and I believe the people want a proven, qualified, and experienced leader.”
Hawkins added, “I would bring a lot of knowledge and background with me to the position of county commissioner. I have a proven record of bringing people together, working cooperatively, and getting things done. I’m so thankful to the voters for their confidence in me.”
Nov 5th General Election moves “countywide”
Now that the primary election has narrowed the field to two candidates within District 3, the general election vote will include all Chelan County voters. Hawkins has represented Chelan County for over 10 years in the Washington State Legislature and understands the issues affecting its various communities.
He said, “As we take this campaign countywide, I look forward to continuing to connect with all communities in Chelan County to ensure that I am as prepared as possible for this position. I have great relationships with community members and elected officials throughout the county and I look forward to continuing to connect with them about more issues and opportunities over the coming weeks.”
Hawkins added, “I’m so thankful for the strong support that I received in this primary, and I’ll be working hard to earn every vote I can in Chelan County as we look ahead to November’s election.”
