Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison reports the receipt of $66,000 in grant funding from the Washington State Department of Ecology.
The funds are dedicated to bolstering our local and regional emergency response capabilities. Specifically, this funding will be used to purchase a new 2024 Ford F250 4×4 capable of towing spill response trailers and boats across the county and surrounding regions.
The new F250 will significantly enhance the agency’s ability to respond effectively to spills, hazardous material incidents, and other emergencies region wide. With proper equipment, our response teams will be better equipped to handle critical situations swiftly and safely, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
