Pavement improvement work held over from the 2023 construction season will resume next week, starting April 29.
A contractor with the Washington State Department of Transportation will complete crack sealing and chip sealing on sections of Interstate 90, US 97, US 97A, US 2, SR 28, SR 281, SR 26, SR 17 and SR 174, starting on Monday, April 29 and finishing between late May and early June, depending on conditions. Work will stretch from Othello to Brewster, from Wenatchee to Coulee Dam and in several places in between.
The Strategic Preservation Plan 2023 will start with crack sealing from mileposts 31 to 42 of SR 26 near Othello. Other sections receiving attention include,
- Mileposts 175 to 181 of I-90, in and around Moses Lake
- Mileposts 2 to 4 of the SR 281 spur near George
- Mileposts 127 to 140 of US 2, near Orondo
- Mileposts 21 to 43 of SR 17, near Othello
- Mileposts 0 to 1 of SR 26, west of Royal City
- Mileposts 0 to 10 of SR 281, south of Quincy
- Mileposts 10 to 27 of SR 28, southeast of East Wenatchee
- Mileposts 117 to 119 of US 2, near Wenatchee
- Mileposts 199 to 201 of US 97A, near Wenatchee
- Mileposts 214 to 232 of US 97A, between Chelan and Entiat
- Mileposts 226 to 248 of US 97, near Chelan
- Mileposts 253 to 260 of US 97, between Brewster and Pateros
- Mileposts 0 to 23 of SR 174, between Leahy Junction and Coulee Dam
Work schedule will typically be Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Travelers in the area should expect flagger-controlled traffic with delays during daylight hours. Specific project sections and updates to traffic control will be posted on the WSDOT real-time travel map.
