Spring cleanup continues. Watch for road crews in some districts to be grading primitive roads, or unpaved roads. Spring grading is an annual event on some of our primitive roads, but not all of them. Please read our policy on primitive roadways in Chelan County. Grading creates some minor traffic delays, so please lower your speeds if you come upon the grader at work.
This week in Wenatchee, watch for crews crack sealing on Wenatchee Heights Road. Watch for one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic there. In the Entiat area, crews will be grading in the Swakane Canyon area. And we’ve got more crack sealing in Nahahum Canyon as well as Mission Creek Road. Watch for one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic on these roads as well.

In District 5 (Chelan)
The crew will continue grading on primitive roads. Grading creates some minor traffic delays. If you come upon the crew at work. Lower your speeds in the work area and obey flaggers. Across the district, the crew will be repairing potholes, cleaning culverts and repairing guardrail where needed. The crew also will be doing snow and ice control as needed.
IT’S NEVER TOO EARLY TO GET READY FOR SUMMER CHIP SEALING: Chip-sealing season is less than three months away. Some county road districts are already prepping for chip sealing; you may see crews crack sealing around the county in the coming weeks. The snake-like lines of crack sealing are the first step in the chip-sealing process.
