In October of 2023, the Columbia River Drug Task Force began an investigation into 816 S. Chelan in Wenatchee, Wa. They received information from reliable sources that drugs were being sold out of this location.
Detectives set up several surveillance missions around the residence and witnessed a large amount of frequent traffic to and from the residence. Further investigation revealed a number of crimes were committed in and around the residence to include two drive by shootings. Detectives learned people engaged in the use and sale of illegal controlled substances were frequenting the residence.
They also learned subjects who committed crimes would often flee to this residence and hide from law enforcement. This residence was clearly a problem for this neighborhood and was affecting the quality of life for many people living in the area.
As a result, detectives continued investigating and discovered Wilver Ventura-Acosta was actively selling drugs from the residence. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and Ventura-Acosta was arrested and booked on 3 Counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substances, Possession with Intent to Deliver, and Maintaining a Drug Property.
During the search warrant, detectives called Wenatchee Code Enforcement to report the conditions of the residence. The residence was filled with drug paraphernalia, garbage, rotting food, bugs, raw sewage leaking, and other health hazards. Approximately 10 people exited the residence during the search warrant. Ventura-Acosta was interviewed after his arrest and the investigation is on-going.
