On Tuesday, January 9, the Washington State Department of Transportation will provide traffic control while a crew from Chelan PUD will prune a few trees in Riverwalk Park away from the highway. This will allow for better clearance for better clearance for tall vehicles on US 97A near the high school (milepost 234).

Work will include pruning park trees away from the highway and the removal of a hazard tree that is encroaching on adjacent sidewalk between the highway and the Riverwalk Trail west of the Dan Gordan Bridge. To safely complete the tree trimming, there will be flagger-controlled traffic at the work site. Pedestrians should expect periodic trail closures.

The project is scheduled for Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but an additional workday may be necessary depending on conditions, including weather.

Travelers should plan for some delays on the highway and intermittent trail closures during working hours. Updates will be shared on the WSDOT real time travel map.
