Community invited to participate in this long-standing tradition of gratitude
information released
The Apple Cup Cafe is proud to present their 26th annual Thanksgiving Day dinner this Thursday from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. This event was the brainchild of Larry Peterson and Dian Prentice in their first year of buying the Apple Cup.
It was always a dream of Larry’s to offer a dinner that was meant to be for the community to come together and break bread. Not because you needed a meal or couldn’t afford it, he wanted to create an event that was more of a gratitude dinner where you could reflect on the past year and look forward to the year to come and give thanks.
This event has been such a delight to carry on, now passing along the tradition to the next generation. There are so many people in the community who have served over the years and make this a part of their own family’s traditions, it’s such a pleasure to be able to create that space.
There are many vendors we must thank that make this possible including Sysco Spokane, Franz, Weinstein Beverage, Cintas and last but least the Eagles Chelan who without fail let us use their kitchens each year to cook all the turkeys.
The last couple of years we’ve had the pleasure of having the Chelan High School Todos United Club join us in helping on the day of as well as our slew of other volunteers, helmed by the lovey Joan Nolan who has been serving for as long as any of us can remember.
This event wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community, we are so grateful to everyone who has supported this vision for all these years.
All cash/check donations received will be given to the Lake Chelan Food Bank.
