Resident and Visitor Resource Guide available in printed form as well

information released

Chelan County Living, a resource guide for residents and visitors to Chelan County, is now available online at www.visitchelancounty.com and www.chelancountyliving.org/.

Printed copies also are available by request or can be picked up at local chambers of commerce throughout the county.

“We have already started updating the guide for the next edition, with plans to have a version published in Spanish in 2024,” said Jerri Barkley, executive director of Visit Chelan County. “We are excited to be able to have these guides out and in the hands of our short-term rental operators, realtors and others who help us share the knowledge of not only what makes our region special but also how to take care of this place we all love. Our natural resources are an important part of the quality of life here.”

The community resource project originally was published as the Chelan County Good Neighbor Handbook, produced by the Chelan Douglas Land Trust. In 2017, the Wenatchee Outreach Committee, a subcommittee of the Wenatchee Watershed Planning Unit of Chelan County Natural Resources, led a collaborative community effort to publish an update to the guide, with the generous assistance of several local organizations. The resource guide was updated and renamed Chelan County Living earlier this year as a project of Visit Chelan County, a nonprofit agency that works to grow tourism within the county.

Those local organizations that have partnered on the publication include: Cascade Community Markets, Sustainable NCW, TREAD-CW, Cascade Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group, Cascadia Conservation District, Chelan County, Chelan Douglas Land Trust, Chumstick Wildfire Stewardship Coalition, Trout Unlimited, USDA Forest Service, Upper Columbia Salmon Recovery Board, Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife, WSU Chelan Douglas County Master Gardener Program, Wenatchee Outdoors and the Wenatchee Valley Museum.
