Chelan falls to Manson in a tight match

Chelan traveled the short and scenic route to Manson High School on Monday for a non-league Lake Chelan Valley power-house match-up. Both teams are highly-ranked in their respective leagues and proved it on the court in an exciting contest from which Manson emerged victorious!

Manson volleyball hosted Chelan on Monday, September 11th for non-league action and beat the Mountain Goats in 4 hard fought sets. The Trojan’s C Team and JV also won.

In varsity action, set scores were 25-20, 22-25, 25-18 and 25-22.

The Trojans battled for every point against the tough Chelan team, but were able to find their rhythm add another win to their record. Manson served well, played GREAT defense and swung often- keeping Chelan out of system just enough to slow down their strong outside hitter. The gym was electric and the volleyball was dynamite!

Tonight’s match puts Manson’s overall record at 2-0, with league play starting Tuesday- with the Trojans traveling to Oroville.

In JV action, set scores were 25-18, 25-23 and 25-19.

The Lady Goats lost tonight in a tight match against Manson. The Goats battled every set, winning the second, but eventually lost the match in 4. The set scores were 20-25, 25-22, 18-25, 22-25.

Overall, the Goats competed well playing the best they have played all year and showing tremendous growth, but their youth and inexperience showed late in the match and they weren’t able to make the plays they needed to beat a very efficient and talented Manson team.
