The #25 ranked Chelan Goats pulled off an upset on Friday night, defeating the #18 ranked Meridian Trojans in an electrifying showdown. The final score, 21-20 in favor of Chelan, left fans on the edge of their seats throughout the entire game.
The Chelan defense displayed unwavering determination, holding strong against the formidable Trojans. A standout performance by Ryan Rainville showcased his prowess with three solo tackles and an impressive interception. Lance Gogal and Dominick Solorza each contributed four solo tackles, further demonstrating the team’s commitment to a relentless defense.
On the offensive side of the ball, Lance Gogal proved to be a driving force, rushing 23 times for 129 yards and securing one touchdown. Gogal’s remarkable performance also included two long runs that were unfortunately called back due to penalties, a testament to his explosive speed and agility.
Landon Johnson made his presence felt with nine carries for 30 yards, earning a crucial touchdown on the ground. Johnson also sealed the victory with a go-ahead receiving touchdown from quarterback Isaac Wilson, thrilling fans with only three minutes left on the clock. Isaac Wilson’s poised and efficient performance at quarterback was a key factor in Chelan’s success, completing 11 of 17 passes and adding one touchdown to the team’s tally. Wilson’s leadership under pressure was a driving force behind the team’s resilience throughout the game.

The Goats will travel to Cle-Elum next week with kickoff being at 7 PM. They will return to Sargent field for another home game the following week.
