Goats come out on top of Kodiaks in league play
information released by Coach Einspahr, Chelan Golf Course photo
A cool, cloudy and eventually rainy day awaited the Chelan and Cascade golfers at the Lake Chelan Golf Course today, as Chelan hosted the Leavenworth golfers. Chelan came out on top for both girls and boys team scores with the Chelan girls besting Cascade 467 to 514, and the Chelan boys with a 387 to Cascade’s 422.
Leading Chelan girls with a personal best score was Arabelle Finch (11th gr) coming in with a breakthrough score of 93, and we’re looking forward to her continuing with more personal bests as this season is (quickly) progressing.
For the boys, several Chelan boys made some great progress with Rocco Domser (8th gr) breaking into the 90s with a 98, and Grant Coonrod (9th gr) just missing the 90s with an even 100.
Chelan has a full match schedule next week with an away match with Omak on Monday (4/24), a home match with Omak again on Wednesday (4/26), and an away match with Quincy on Thursday (4/27).
I would like to express our team’s encouragement and hope for a full recovery of our teammate Jailyn and her dad after a very serious recent car accident – we miss you and hope you both are doing better!
I also wanted to give some accolades to our Manson golfer who is practicing and playing with us this year – Wyatt Winters (8th gr) had a great day on the course and was the medalist for the boys, coming in with a hot 2-over par 74, and that even with a double bogey and two bogeys on the last 4 holes (finishing on hole #1). Great job Wyatt!
