Strong Winds, Low Relative Humidity and Warm Temperatures Contribute to Warning

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a red flag warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from mid-day Thursday to 10:00 p.m. Friday.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
- Affected Area: Fire Weather Zone 677 Eastern Washington Central Cascade Valleys.
- Winds: West 10 to 20 MPH with gusts up to 30 MPH.
- Relative Humidities: 14 to 30 Percent.
- Impacts: rapid fire spread of any new or ongoing fires will be possible. Heed burn ban restrictions. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
