First of three games this week

Chelan High School basketball will be in action tonight with home games for Boys and Girls against Quincy. The girls varsity plays at 6 0’clock and boys action is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 at the high school gym. The girls JV team plays at 4:30 at the high school while the boys JV and C squads play at the Community Gym starting with the JV game at 4:30 pm.
Chelan opened the basketball season on the road last Saturday with the girls varsity losing to Okanogan 43-27 while the boys came from behind to defeat Okanogan 54-48.
The Chelan boys were led in scoring by junior guard Nate Harding who finished with 16 points, 6 assists and 3 steals. First year Coach Tony Callero reported that sophomore Braiden Boyd hit a big go-ahead three-pointer with 39-seconds to play in the game. Boyd would finish with 15 points and 11 rebounds while freshman Dylan Jay with 12 and junior Reed Stamps with 10 also finished in double figures. Stamps also collected 10 rebounds in the victory over the Bulldogs. The win at Okanogan was the first for the Goats in 10 years.
It will be a busy week for the Goat basketball teams as after tonight they will play Friday at Ephrata and then host Warden on Saturday in Chelan. Meanwhile, Chelan wrestlers will host a match this Wednesday in the Community Gym starting at 5 pm with boys and girls matches.
