Passenger vehicle rear-ended a stopped semi-truck

Just before 11 am Thursday morning an accident was reported seven miles north of Orondo on US 97 below Desert Canyon.
On arrival Fire Units found a two-vehicle accident where a passenger vehicle rear-ended a stopped semi causing heavy damage. There were three injured occupants in the passenger car with one requiring extrication.
All three patients were treated at the scene and then transported to Central Washington Hospital.
There were five fire engines, one ambulance, one advanced aid vehicle and three patrol vehicles. Emergency responders were on scene from Orondo Fire, Ballard Ambulance, Douglas County Sheriff and Washington State Patrol.
