Face Covering Order “Not a Mandate for Local Law Enforcement Response”
Released by NCW Law Enforcement Leadership Group
The Sheriffs from Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan Counties, along with the Wenatchee and East Wenatchee Police Chiefs, have issued a joint statement regarding their role in the Statewide face covering order.
6/24/2020: “In response to many inquiries on the Governor’s recent proclamation regarding face coverings, we want to communicate we will continue to focus on crimes and criminals which impact public safety. The statewide face covering order is a public health and safety measure, it is not a mandate for local law enforcement response. We encourage our community to take the necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of all.”
In addition, Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett has released a statement regarding masks and concealed carry.
