US Hwy-2 Stevens Pass paving work began this week

Information released by WSDOT

Beginning this week, a contractor for the Washington State Department of Transportation will begin a paving project on US 2 east of the summit of Stevens Pass.

Interstate Concrete and Asphalt Company is the contractor on this project, and will repair and resurface the roadway between milepost 71 and 78.  Work will occur Monday through Friday during daylight hours and require flagger controlled traffic with pilot car.  Travelers can expect delays up to 20 minutes when crews are working.

The contractor will begin at milepost 78 and work westward on pavement and guardrail repairs.  When the contractor reaches milepost 71, they will turn around and work eastward to complete paving work.  This project is scheduled to finish in early August.

Updates will be shared on the travel alert page, the North Central region construction page, and on Twitter @WSDOT_East.
