A large unoccupied home undergoing a complete remodel ignited into flames Monday evening, and was fully involved when firefighters arrived on the scene. Chelan Fire and Rescue responded to the call shortly after 8 pm, and reports that the home had already nearly burned to the ground by the time units arrived. The south shore home at 351 Fields Point Landing is located just west of the parking area at Field’s Point.

A second alarm was issued as Entiat and Manson fire departments assisted in fighting the fire, which was pushed by strong downlake winds into close by brush and threatened a nearby home. A news release from Chelan Fire and Rescue said crews were able to quickly contain the brush fire and then put out what was left of the home.

Fire Chief Mark Donnell said the home was undergoing a complete remodel. Electrical work had recently been completed and the home was being prepared for insulation and sheetrock work. Donnell said there is no loss estimate at this time and that the cause remains under investigation.
