Giving away free games at the Chelan Post Office this week
by Dennis Rahm
Chelan resident Robert Fifer has developed a family-oriented game that he hopes can be mass produced and made available to the public through retail outlets as well as online. Fifer has been stationed outside the Chelan Post Office this week (approximate hours 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.) giving away free game prototypes while supplies last.
Dubbed BFF games, for Best Friends and Family, Fifer says he first became aware of the QwikWit games from his in-laws who have played a version of the original for more than 30 years. He has redesigned the game numerous times and says it is a simple game appropriate for ages 4 to 104. He refers to it as a prototype because the game is homemade and is not produced commercially. The game is designed to make you think quickly and react swiftly.
Fifer will be handing out the free games through Friday, or until he runs out of his supply. Inside the game sack is a feedback survey that he intends to use in seeking a publisher. Says Fifer, “once I get the surveys back, I will then make a final decision on whether or not to pursue a game publisher to produces the BFF game”.
