SR 971 not available as a detour through Entiat during weekday work hours

US 97A is closed in both directions from milepost 223 to milepost 230 at the Knapps Hill Tunnel south of Chelan for emergency slope stabilization work. Motorists traveling between Wenatchee and Chelan should use US 97 on the east side of the Columbia River. This will be an extended closure with no estimated re-opening date at this time.
SR 971 is NOT AVAILABLE as a local detour from 8 am to 5 pm each weekday due to a separate roadway closure near Entiat for scheduled rock scaling work. SR 971 is not recommended for large vehicles.
