Revised plan could impact design and timing of new hospital
By Dennis Rahm,
Lake Chelan Community Hospital is moving forward with renewing their strategic planning process as the result of changes to their business model created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Hospital CEO George Rohrich told the board at their Tuesday meeting that some of the changes are likely to remain even after the pandemic is over.
Rohrich feels it’s important to examine if the design and footprint for the new hospital are a match for how things are changing and whether or not the current strategic plan goals are spot on. After completing his comments on the topic, he was instructed by the Board to develop a draft strategic plan proposal for their next meeting in May.
Rohrich’s recorded comments on the need to review the strategic plan are posted below:

Hospital Board Chair Phyllis Gleasman agrees that the plan needs to be revisited even though it could result in changes to the design and construction start for the new hospital.
