Information released by Chelan Valley Housing Trust

The Chelan Valley Housing Trust is now taking homebuyer applications for Emerson Village, the trust’s first townhome development. The townhomes are available to homebuyers who earn up to, or slightly more than, 100% of the valley’s average median income, which is $52,000. The purchase price for each home is $200,000.

Emerson Village will be located at the corner of North Emerson Street and East Chelan Avenue. Rachael Goldie, the trust’s executive administrator, says construction will begin as soon as the permits are approved and the state’s shutdown order on residential construction is lifted. “Once we begin construction, we’re hopeful for move-in within six months,” says Goldie.

Each of the five townhomes will be 1,179 square feet, two stories, with two bedrooms and 1.5 baths. Forte Architects of Wenatchee designed the development and K&L Homes is the General Contractor. North Cascades Bank is supplying the construction financing.

The Emerson Village Townhomes will follow the land trust model that sells the townhomes to low- to moderate-income buyers while the trust retains ownership of the land through a ground lease arrangement that keeps the homes affordable into perpetuity.
