Festival Committee hopes to reschedule to 4th of July

Social gathering restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic have forced the postponement of this year’s Manson Apple Blossom Festival originally scheduled for the weekend of May 8-9.
2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the Manson event and organizers are working hard to honor the centennial milestone by moving the festival to the 4th of July weekend.
Apple Blossom Festival Co-Chair, Launie Buck, tells LakeChelanNow that postponing the event was necessary for public safety and that once that became clear the next step was for the Festival committee to reach out to the Manson community in hopes of moving the event to the 4th of July.

Buck also notes that a summer holiday parade will will pose challenges to downtown businesses and the committee wants to minimize any inconvenience while at the same time honoring the history of the event and allowing the Queen and her two princesses to participate in an event they’ve worked so hard to be a part of.
Royalty deserves a time to go through town on their 100th anniversary float
While there is no guarantee the parade will be able to be held this summer, the committee will keep working toward a July 4 event. Buck points out that the 100th year commemorative Apple Blossom Festival book won’t be released until next year. The book will recognize all royalty throughout the years.
