Information released by Rep. Goehner, file photo
Dear Friends and Neighbors: Since the Legislature adjourned on March 12, the news has been dominated by COVID-19 (coronavirus). While we are not in session, I still represent you year-round. We are hearing from many people and doing our best to get you answers or help you find information and resources to address your questions and concerns. We are staying in touch with the governor’s office and the Washington State Department of Health (DOH).
Many websites are now available to find information about helpful resources. I highly recommend checking out these three state-operated resource websites:
- Coronavirus (COVID-19) information and resources | Washington State House Republicans – One of the most comprehensive state websites for information and resources on coronavirus.
- Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) information and updates | Governor’s office – Includes governor’s proclamations and latest news.
- 2019 Novel Coronavirus Outbreak (COVID 19) | Washington State Department of Health – Provides information about symptoms, testing, confirmed cases and fatalities across the state involving the virus.
Governor’s proclamation
On Tuesday, Gov. Jay Inslee addressed the state of Washington, in which he issued a statewide “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” proclamation order. I know many of you are concerned about this and what that means. The order:
- requires every Washingtonian to stay home unless they need to pursue an essential activity.
- bans all gatherings for social, spiritual and recreational purposes.
- closes all businesses except essential businesses.
Here is the governor’s list of essential businesses. To clarify status, or to petition to be added to the essential business list, please email: business@mil.wa.gov.

Despite these uncertain times, our communities and neighborhoods are stepping up and making a difference. Below are some local organizations that are working to get blood donors, keep our food banks stocked and provide other assistance or services.
- American Red Cross (Northwest Region)
- Serve Wenatchee Valley
- Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council
- Community Cupboard
Finally, don’t forget the local health districts in the 12th District:
I hope this information is helpful. Please stay safe. We are working in a bipartisan manner to keep people safe, protect public health and preserve jobs and our economy. These are difficult times, but we will get through this if we stick together.
During this time, our district office is closed, but we can still be reached by phone and email. Please let me know if you need any assistance navigating through state agencies at this time.
Sincerely,
Keith Goehner
