Information and graphics released by the National Weather Service and WSDOT

The National Weather Service has issued a severe temperature warning for the coming week.

NWS ALERT: Very cold temperatures are expected to arrive early next week and could persist for a week or more. Now is the time to get prepared for the extreme cold. Be sure to have sufficient fuels for heating and preparations to protect sensitive livestock and pets. Those having to spend time outdoors should be prepared for very cold temperatures and dress accordingly to avoid hypothermia.

WSDOT urges travelers to ‘know before you go’ and to check current road conditions and travel advisories before traveling.

The National Weather Service has produced this graphic to demonstrate the emergency kit recommended to carry in your car.
