Playing at home Friday night for the first time this season proved to be just what the Chelan Girls and Boys teams needed as they bounced back from tough losses on the road the previous night. On Thursday at Okanogan, the Lady Goats lost 45-40 to the Bulldogs while the boys lost in overtime 78-73.
It was a different story on the Goats home court as the Chelan Girls rolled over visiting Granger 53-26 last Friday night and boys completed the sweep with a 74-41 victory over the Spartans.
The Lady Goats were led by the 13 points of junior Booh Huddleston while Matea Ivory scored nine points and Molly Oswald and Katie Rainville each contributed eight points in what proved to be a well-balanced attack.
In the boys win over Granger, Reed Stamps led the way with 20 points while three others hit double figures with Connor Wilson and Cade Christopherson scoring 14 points each and freshman Braiden Boyd contributing 13 points.
The Chelan teams will be in search of their first Caribou Trail League wins of the year as they travel to Leavenworth Tuesday night to take on the Cascade Kodiaks. The girls’ varsity game will tip-off at 5:45 pm with the boy’s contest to follow at 7:30 pm. Both games will be broadcast live on LakeChelanNow.
