by Team Lake Chelan Now

In this 3-part series, LCN’s Dennis Rahm will interview the candidates for each of the local contested races: Chelan Mayor, Chelan City Council, and Fire Commissioner.

First up is a conversation with Incumbent Mayor Mike Cooney and former Mayor Bob Goedde who were asked about their experience, challenges, ideas and vision for the City of Chelan. The two mayoral candidates discuss development, traffic concerns, housing and more. Each has a distinctly different view on the recent renovation of the old bridge and its one-way traffic flow into town.

This will be followed tomorrow on LakeChelanNow.com by a joint interview with City Council candidates John Olson and Jon Higgens. Three other positions on Chelan City council will be filled this election cycle by current council members Ray Dobbs and Servando Robledo, and newcomer Peter Jamtgaard who are all running unopposed.

Later this week, LCN will publish an interview with William (Bill) Bassett and Karyl Oules who are running for Chelan Fire District #7, Commission position #2.

Presented in alphabetical order by last name, following are the interviews with Mike Cooney and Bob Goedde.
