Roadwork and Maintenance schedule for the week of October 21 – 25

CHUMSTICK HIGHWAY: this week, BNSF railroad will be repairing the main line track on the overhead tracks that go over Chumstick Highway. Traffic delays may occur for three evenings at the train overpass at milepost 1.83, north of Freund Canyon Road. A BNSF crew will be working 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Oct. 21-23. When a train is crossing the overpass, flaggers will need to hold traffic. Delays of up to 10 minutes are expected.

The following is a list of regularly scheduled maintenance for Chelan County Public Works for the week of Oct. 21, 2019. Maintenance plans may change with weather conditions or equipment difficulties. Visit the Public Works website, where the weekly road maintenance information is regularly updated.

District 1 (Wenatchee) – A contractor begins work Oct. 21 replacing a stormwater pipe on South Wenatchee Road, near Boodry Street. More details, including traffic impacts, are online. The Wenatchee road crew this week will be working on service requests throughout the district.

District 2 (Cashmere) – Crews will be repairing a ditch on Cramner Road in Wenatchee. Motorists should watch for one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic. Crews also will be ditching along Squilchuck Road, from about Wenatchee Heights Road to the city limits. Motorists will see minor traffic delays, with one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic.

District 3 (Leavenworth) – The crew will be prepping for winter, including hauling sand to the county’s Plain pit and putting up snow markers. The crew also will be cleaning culverts and catch basins throughout the district. In addition, watch for minor traffic delays in the evening Oct. 21-23 on Chumstick Highway while a BNSF crew works. District 4 (Entiat) – On Entiat River Road, the crew will be replacing culvert at milepost 14.9 and ditching from milepost 11 to 12. Watch for one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic in both work areas. Motorists should expect minor delays.

District 5 (Chelan) – Crews will be ditching in the Boyd Road area. Motorists should expect to see one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic with minor delays. In the Manson area, crews will be hand patching and brushing as time allows. Crews also will be ditching in the upper Manson area. Motorists should expect to see one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic with minor delays in the work area. And the crew will be hauling sand to the Chelan shop in preparation for winter.
