The Lake Chelan Ladies Golf Club Championship came to an exciting conclusion last Thursday. It was a three-round series that took place over one and a half weeks. After the first round, it looked like Jan Artim had it in the bag, especially with her hole in one. Then after round 2 it was a toss-up.
On Thursday, it came down to a royal battle between April Talley and Barb Rayburn with April winning by only one stroke over Barb on the eighteenth hole! Very exciting! Congratulations to our 2019 Club Champion, April Talley. This is April’s 12th Club Championship.
Club Championship Winners:
- Division 1: April Talley: Club Champion. Barb Rayburn: First Runner-up. First Low Gross: Jan Artim. Low Putts: Carol Ferguson.
- Division 2: First Low Gross and Low Putts: Karen Holst
- Division 3: First Low Gross: Jane Storms. Low Putts: Karen Erickson.
- Low Net of the Field: Karen Erickson
Also, taking place was our usual weekly competition called Criss Cross, where you compare your front nine to the back nine and take the better score of each hole less ½ your handicap. There were 26 players and one guest.
The weekly competition winners were as follows:
- Division 1: First Place, Linda Hahn, 27. Second Place, Jaclyn Starr-Evans, 28.
- Division 2: There was a tie between Susie Clausen and Karen Holst, 27.5.
- Division 3: First Place, Karen Erikson, 26.5. Second Place, Jane Storms, 29.5.
Birdies were made by Linda Hahn on hole 11, April Talley on hole 11 and Pam Zent on hole 2. The chip-in pot was split down the middle between April Talley on hole 1 and Candace Farnsworth on hole 16.
Next week’s competition is T’s and F’s which is the gross score of all holes starting with the letters T and F less ½ your handicap.
Tee time remains at 8 am for the month of August; please check in by 7:30 am.
