Information and photo released by Lake Chelan Ladies Golf Club
It was a very hot Thursday (8/8/19) in Chelan for the Ladies Club golf. It was very slow play which is a great sign that lots of tourists are here playing our beautiful course.
Thursday was the first round of the Ladies Club Championship which is a total of 54 holes of stroke play. It will continue for two more rounds next Tuesday and Thursday.
Meanwhile, we had our regular weekly competition going on. The competition was Even and Odd: (gross scores of even numbered holes on front nine plus odd numbered holes on back nine less ½ handicap). A total of 21 players battled it out.
The weekly competition winners were:
- Division 1: First place: Barb Rayburn, 27.5. Second place: Linda Reister, 29.5.
Division 2: First place: Joan Pierce, 26.5. Second Place: Toni Berry, 27.5.
Division 3: First place: Nancy Parker, 23.
The most exciting “play of the day” was a Hole-in-One, Eagle made by Jan Artim on hole 18. She is experienced in this as we heard this is the fourth one in her golf career. She also had a chip-in birdie on hole 9.
Two other birdie girls were April Talley on hole 3 and Gail Peterson had a chip-in birdie on hole 11. The chip-in pot was divided between Jan Artim for hole 18 and Gail Peterson on hole 11.
Next week’s competition is Criss Cross (gross score of 9 consecutive holes, less ½ your handicap). Our ladies’ tee time remains at 8:00 am for the month of August. Please check in by 7:30 am.
