Saturday Morning Fire Consumes Home

Chelan Fire & Rescue responded to a residential house fire at 3:41am Saturday morning in the Sunnybanks community outside Chelan off South Lake Shore Road.
Chief Tim Lemon said crews arrived on scene at 4045 Sunnybank Drive and found the residence fully involved along with six vehicles in a carport. Crews began a defensive perimeter strategy to keep the fire from reaching neighboring homes or starting a wildland fire.
Lemon said it took about an hour to bring the fire under control with approximately 25 personal and 7 apparatus on the scene to ferry water since there were no hydrants in the vicinity.
The two occupants of the home escaped unharmed and there were no injuries to crews on scene. The cause is under investigation by Chelan County Fire Marshall Bob Plumb
