Chelan Boys take Team Honors
Information submitted by Golf Coach Kirk Einspahr
The Chelan Golf Team finally got on a golf course and played their first match today at Quincy along with the Cascade team. Chelan Boys took team honors with a 368 to Cascade’s 403, with Chelan sophomore Miles Grossberg taking boys’ medalist with a 77.
For the girls, Chelan was the only team to have four varsity scorers for a team score. Medalist for the girls went to Quincy’s Stacia Sarty who shot an 82. Chelan’s Kaylin Boykin (jr.) came in second, breaking the hundred mark with a 98.
Both medalist scores were great scores for such an early season match, and I was very excited for Miles and Kaylin leading the way for the Chelan teams, both shooting scores that suggest some great things ahead for this season for them. I was also happy with the returning players on the girls team: Katie Rainville (so.) came in with a 111, and Andrea Villa (sr.) with a 115. For our first outing of the year, this is really great scoring and again, suggests some great things ahead for the Chelan girls team.
Chelan will be off until after their spring break, and hopefully be able to start playing on their home course very soon. Chelan will travel to Okanogan on Tuesday, Apr. 9th, and host Cascade here in Chelan on Thursday, Apr. 11.
