About 100 area residents turned out for a Town Hall meeting Wednesday night at the fire station in Chelan for a presentation by the Chelan County Sheriff’s Department. Similar meetings have been, or will be held, in several other communities throughout the County.

The meetings afford the Sheriff’s Department an opportunity to discuss recently adopted legislative changes and their impact on policing and how it will affect the public.

Sheriff Brian Burnett was unable to attend the Chelan meeting, but three members of the Department gave a more than two-hour presentation that included a slide show and several examples of how the new laws will change policing. Presenters included Chief of Patrol Adam Musgrove, Sgt. Brent Frank, and Sgt. Dan McCue

In addition to those who attended the meeting in person, others were able to listen live to an audio stream on LakeChelanNow. For those who missed it, the recorded meeting can be listened via the link below.

The next presentation is scheduled in Manson on Sunday, August 15, 6-8 p.m. at North Shore Bible Church,
