Goats secure resounding win over Tigers with a 49-20 victory

The Chelan High School Football Team, currently ranked #15 (Max Preps), secured a resounding 49-20 victory over the Tonasket Tigers. This game showcased the talent and teamwork that defines the Chelan Goats’ football program.

In the first half, running back sensation Lance Gogal put on a display of pure athleticism, carrying the ball only ten times yet amassing an astounding 310 yards and securing four touchdowns. Gogal’s remarkable achievement left spectators and opponents alike in awe of his skills and contribution to the team’s early lead. His outstanding performance in the first half set the tone for the game. Gogal would not see the field in the second half due to the lead.

As the second half unfolded, Angel Saucedo, a versatile player, stepped up on both sides of the field. Saucedo’s contributions included scoring two touchdowns and making a pivotal assisted tackle, further cementing his reputation as a key player for the Chelan Goats.

On the defensive side, sophomore sensation Manny Cazarez recorded two impressive sacks, showcasing his ability to disrupt the opposing offense. Isaac Wilson and Jacob Allen both secured interceptions, adding to the team’s defensive prowess. Tight end Ryan Rainville made his presence felt with four catches, including a touchdown, demonstrating the Chelan Goats’ proficiency in both offense and defense.

Additionally, several junior varsity (JV) players were given the opportunity to showcase their talents in the second half. This move not only demonstrated the depth of talent within the Chelan High School Football program but also provided valuable experience to the next generation of football stars.

This victory solidifies Chelan High School Football’s position as a formidable contender in the Caribou Trail League. The team’s dedication, unity, and sportsmanship continue to be key factors in their success.

Chelan will play Omak next week in Caribou Trail League play at Sargent Field Friday (9/30). Omak are defending league champions, kick off is at 7 PM.
