Vintage Hydroplane Exhibition and Boat Show on Lake Chelan
information released, LCN file photo
Take a trip to hydroplane racing’s powerful past, with lovingly restored hydros thundering around the course this weekend. Boasting familiar names like the Miss Bardahl (1948), Miss Wahoo (1956), Notre Dame (1962), Miss Thriftway (1955), My Darling (1950) among others, these unlimited hydros will return to Lake Chelan for exhibition races on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings (weather permitting).
On Saturday, the watercraft nostalgia continues with the display of dozens of meticulously restored antique and classic mahogany Chris-Crafts, Centurys and other boats lining the docks at Don Morse Park, presented by the PNW Chapter of the Antiques & Classic Boat Society.
Stroll through the Vendor Village presented by the Hydroplane & Raceboat Museum, where you’ll find vintage memorabilia, local products, arts and crafts, clothing and other items, as well as live music and a beer and wine garden.
All proceeds from this event benefit the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum. For more information, visit the Mahogany and Merlot website.
