Community Forum on Affordable Housing Held on Wednesday
Submitted by the City of Chelan
The City of Chelan and the Affordable Housing Committee are holding a Community Forum for Affordable Housing on Wednesday, April 25th at 6pm at The Vogue in Chelan to discuss housing availability and affordability in Chelan and solicit community wide input on ways to address this important issue in our valley.
The featured speaker will be Housing and Community Development consultant, Julie Brunner, a nationally recognized expert in planning and implementation of affordable housing strategies. She has extensive experience in participatory community and organizational capacity assessments and has supported a wide variety of communities and organizations in the Northwest and across the country to assess and plan for affordable housing needs.
Outside of a presentation by Brunner, the Community Forum will focus on input from the community at large and stakeholders in the future of affordable housing in our Valley.
Anyone struggling to find housing or who has had difficulty finding housing they can afford, social service providers, employers and those in the real estate and construction industries are encouraged to attend.
It is the committee and city’s strong belief that community input and energy will be the key to a successful project for the Chelan Valley.
Snacks and drinks will be provided.
Join your friends and neighbors at this event and find out how you can be a part of the solution by offering your financial, material or moral support and ideas to this effort.
