Handmade quilts will be on display throughout downtown, plus scavenger hunt, raffle and more
information released
Looking for a great way to soak in the autumn sun? You are invited to spend the day in the beautiful Methow Valley as the Winthrop Quilt Round Up returns on Saturday, September 19th from 10 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The outdoor event is a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, color and the stories that are stitched into every quilt. Whether you are a lifelong quilter, and admirer of beautiful handiwork, or simply looking for something different to do, this event is for you.
The Quilt Round Up celebrates a craft with deep roots in the Methow Valley, and gives quilters a public setting to share both their finished pieces and the history and skill behind them. Quilts are contributed by community members and displayed in cooperation with businesses across the downtown corridor.
Visitors are invited to walk the town and see the amazing hand-crafted skill of local quilters displayed against Winthrop’s western storefronts. Alongside the displays, participating shops are hosting a scavenger hunt, and visitors can enter a raffle for a chance to win one of five mini-quilts or other prizes.
Pick up your scavenger hunt passport at the tent outside of the downtown Winthrop Visitor Information Center — on Riverside Avenue — from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The cost per passport is $5 with all proceeds supporting the Shafer Museum. Upon purchase, you are automatically entered into a raffle for a quilt and gift baskets filled with local goodies. The drawing will be held at Lost River Winery at 6 p.m., winners do not need to be present to win.
