Multiple Agencies Respond to the Scene

Just before 4 am Thursday morning an accident was reported on US 97 one-half mile north of Orondo. Incoming fire units found rolled over semi on arrival to the scene. The tanker semi was southbound on US 97, had lost control losing its trailer which left the southbound lane becoming lodged in a tree. The semi went through the guard rail on the Northbound side of the highway overturning down an embankment. The driver who was trapped in the semi was extricated and treated at the scene.

The semi and trailer are used for hauling fuel but were empty at the time of the accident.

The Washington State Patrol is investigating the accident.

Twelve first responders from Orondo Fire, Ballard Ambulance and the Washington State Patrol were on-scene as well as four fire apparatus.
