This week, the Senior Men’s Golf Club welcomed new Members, Larry Jacobson and Ron Cook. Approximately, 32 Golfers started play Wednesday at 8:00 AM from tee boxes ranging from hole #15 through hole #1.  There was heavy rain to greet the golfers but the clouds gave way to sun within a short time.

Prior to play, Dr. Darrell Richards distributed club roster lists to enable Members to update their personal contact information.  He reported when the changes are completed an updated list would be emailed to all the Members.  And, Members were informed comprehensive instructions would be posted on the Club’s Bulletin Board to provide guidance on how to accurately post their scores for handicap purposes and to access their handicap information on the Lake Chelan Golf Course Computer.

The results from the July 17th weekly game competitions are as follows:

The “Even Holes Less Half Your Handicap” game was won by Gary Searle (Score 29), Darrell Simpson was second (Score 32), Dan Dedo was third (Score 33) and Bob Carleton was fourth (Score 33.5).  Tony Montoya, Scott Patrick and Mark Babcock all tied for first place in the “Low Net Score on All Par 3’s” game (Score 10).  John (Mr. VP) Hancock took honors on the “Long Drive Contest on Hole #5” and Dave Jansen recorded the winning shot on the “Closest to the Pin Contest on Hole #11”.

The Group was reminded Free Lunches would be provided to Members that attend the Men’s Club Monthly Meeting on July 28th and to those golfers participating in the Apple Cup Open Tournament on July 20th.

After play, Matt Froman the 2019 Men’s Club President announced several enhancements to the 2019 Apple Cup Open Tournament scheduled for July 20th and 21st at the Lake Chelan Golf Course.  The Tournament Committee has decided to add a “Hole-in-One” Prize Contest and Award, to add additional Prize Awards for the “Horse Race” Competition, to add a “Honey Bucket” Game with Awards, and additional money has been allocated to the overall Tournament Prize Awards for the three separate player divisions.
