Manson Defeats Okanogan and Brewster

We have waited a long time for volleyball. Manson opened their short season by traveling to Brewster for a double-header this weekend.
Manson began the double header squaring off against Okanogan. The bulldogs just dropped down from 1A this season and were expected to be a big test for the young Trojan team. Manson won a tightly contested first set 25-21. Okanogan battled back winning the second set 25-18 before Manson won both the 3rd and 4th set to win the match 3-1. Manson was led by Maycee Ward with 10 kills and Freshman Natalee Reyna 10 kills as well. Senior Kendall Petre had 6 kills and 4 blocks.
In the second game of the night Manson played the host team Brewster Bears. Brewster is the reigning CWB league champion and a regular state volleyball participant. Manson came out hot and never looked back winning the first set 25-6. The Trojans did not let up winning the second set 25-14 and the third set 25-13. Maycee Ward again led the team with 12 kills.
Manson will host Tonasket and Warden on Saturday March 6th.
