Game Recap 9/20/2019 vs. Liberty Christian (Richland)

Final score: Manson 50 Liberty Christian 30. Manson football shut down the aerial attack of Liberty Christian on Friday night. Then the Trojan’s run game dominated as they rushed for 7 touchdowns in the first half. The defense played phenomenal and at half the score was 50-0.

On offense the Trojans racked up over 250 yards rushing in the first quarter alone. Caden Beazley led charge with 165 yards and 4 touchdowns. Sophomore Brian Barragan showed that he was capable of some big plays as well, as he racked up 56 yards and a touchdown. The offensive line led by Senior Daniel Frayle and Junior Cody Fitzpatrick absolutely dominated the Liberty Christian defensive line. Sophomore Center Alex Solorio also continued his great season by paving the way for the Trojans right through the middle of the line.

The defense had a fun night as well. The Liberty Christian offensive line could not stop Senior Defensive Tackle Daniel Frayle. He finished the game with multiple sacks. The defense also picked off 3 passes. At half the score was 50-0 and in the 2nd half the Trojans allowed many young players to get in the game. There was some quick learning to be done, but young players obtained some great experience.
Special Teams played a big role also. Kicker Arturo Valdovinos pinned Liberty Christian deep all night and they were able to force a fumble and recover it.

“Tonight we played Manson Football”, said Coach Johanson, “This is what we are capable of and we look to keep it rolling vs. Lake Roosevelt next Friday. I’m super proud of these guys. I gave them the challenge to have fun tonight and boy did they!”

Manson improves to 2-1 on the season and takes on Lake Roosevelt next week in Manson at 7:00 PM.
