Eric Flynn and Erika Scroggie serve the Lake Chelan School District as school nurses.  Eric is stationed at the MS/HS and Erika at Morgen Owings Elementary.  Both nurses were recognized and honored this week for several reasons.  This is National Nurses Week and our nurses are truly unsung heroes. They administer medication, check for fevers, look for lice, and much more including monitoring students and staff for COVID-19.  Our nurses take care of our children and look after staff as well.  The unofficial holiday was created in 1972 by the National Association of School Nurses.

They were also honored by the North Central Educational Service District with the prestigious “Friend of Children Award” for their dedication and commitment to managing the challenges associated with COVID-19.  The Friend of Children Award was created in 1992 to recognize outstanding service in school communities represented within the NCESD four county region. This year, Superintendents in the region voted to honor and recognize our nurses for their tireless, ongoing efforts to ensure our schools are safe through the pandemic.

Congratulations to Eric Flynn and Erika Scroggie, we are extremely fortunate to have them serving the Lake Chelan School District.
