Donors and local activities supporting housing this winter

The Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce recently donated $10,000 to Chelan Valley Housing Trust to build attainable homes in Chelan and Manson. This is part of an ongoing $100,000 commitment the Chamber made in 2020 to help tackle the affordable housing crisis.

“We are proud to have pledged $100,000 to support this tremendous and very important work,” says Mike Steele, Chamber of Commerce Executive Director.

“This commitment has really helped our organization continue to move forward these last five years and Chamber support also shows other potential funders that our community is backing attainable housing,” says Rachael Goldie, the Trust’s Executive Director.

In addition, there are several other businesses supporting housing this winter.  At Tipsy Canyon winery, guests can visit  Tipsy Tree Town and   vote on their favorite tree by donating to the Trust. Vin du Lac continues to donate proceeds from their Abode wine label and also holds an Abode happy hour every Friday from 3-5pm.

Beginning in 2023, Navarre Coulee Vineyards and Tipsy Canyon Winery will be releasing a wine label with a portion of the proceeds to support the Trust. To introduce this new label and encourage greater community support, the two wineries are partnering with The Landing to hold a black-tie event on January 19th.
