The Chelan baseball team won its 9th straight game this past week, taking one league game from Cashmere, and two from Okanogan.

The fun started on Tuesday, as the visiting Cashmere Bulldogs travelled to MT Goat field for a single game.  The longtime CTL champion Bulldogs were greeted with a convincing “mercy rule” loss, with the Goats winning by ten runs, 12 to 2. Senior Sam Austin earned his 3rd win of the season on the mound, striking out 8, while scattering 5 hits. The offense was paced by Colt Corrigan with two hits and 3 rbis.

On Saturday, the Goats hosted a double header vs Okanogan. Chelan came out on top of both games by the scores of 11 to 1, and 4 -1.

Game one featured Junior left-hander Connor Wilson earning his second win on the mound, and a whole lot of offense from the Goats. Colt Corrigan had 3 hits and 4rbi, Breckin Sporseen added two hits, including a long home run, and Bryson Darlington had two hits including a walk off grand slam, amassing his 5th rbi for the game.

Game two was a closer affair, the Goats coming out on top 4 -1. Quinn Stamps pitched his team to another league victory, and the offense struggled but achieved just enough to win their 6th league game of the season with no losses.

The Goats currently are ranked 2nd in the state in Max Preps, and 5th in the Washington State coaches poll. With three quality wins this week vs league opponents, we can look to move up from there.
