The Chelan Goats hosted Okanogan on Thursday in a hard-fought matchup that showcased the growth and intensity of the Chelan girls soccer program. The Goats battled from start to finish, creating several quality scoring opportunities while applying pressure throughout the match. Despite the effort, Chelan fell 0-3 to a strong Okanogan team.
Heidy Cortez came up big in goal, recording 8 saves, including three saves in 1v1 situations to keep the Goats within striking distance.
Chelan’s defense held strong for much of the match, while the attack continued to create opportunities from both the wings and through the middle of the field. The Goats hit the post or crossbar three times, narrowly missing opportunities to find the back of the net.
“We continue to show the brilliance of our style of play. We have grown a lot since the beginning of the season and applied our style every single matchup. Today’s game vs. Okanogan was no different. A tough opponent today, but we will keep our heads high and continue to work at it.” – Head Coach Diego Avina
