Baseball leads Spring Sports All-League selections

The Goat baseball team led the way with eight first team selections in dominating the CTL All-League selections after finishing league play undefeated. Chelan pitching was dominant this year in hurling six no-hitters with Dillon McCardle, Reed Stamps and Braiden Boyd leading the way on the mound.

Included in those selections was senior Catcher Drake Bird who was named Player of the Year as well as Dana Papasedero who earned Coach of the Year honors. In addition to Bird, first team honors also went to fellow seniors Gunner Gleasman and Dillon McCardle. Juniors selected first team include Ethan Kehl, Reed Stamps, Noah Loew, and Quinn McClaren. Sophomore Braiden Boyd was also named to the first team.

Girls Softball: The Chelan Girls Softball team played hard all season with a mostly inexperienced squad. Sophomore Kira Sandoval earned a CTL Honorable Mention selection.

Boys Soccer: The Goats had two players selected first team and two named to the second team. First team awards went to senior Midfielder Jonathan Ramirez and junior Defender Miguel Zarate. Second team honors were earned by senior Forward Luis Mendez and senior Defender Alex Cerda.

Girls Tennis: The Doubles team of seniors Bella Gatzemeier and Elle Rothlisberger were named to the CTL first team. Honorable Mention went to the doubles team of juniors Ally Williams and Ruby Wier.

Boys Tennis: Junior Nate Harding earned first team honor in singles play for Chelan, while juniors Charlie Bordner and Teagan Moody earned Honorable Mention in doubles.

Boys Track and Field: Senior Julio Alatorre led the squad with a first team and two second team selections. Alatorre was first team in the Long Jump and second team in the 100-meter and 200-meter runs. Sophomore Luke Simmons was second team in the 3200-meter event. Honorable Mention honors were earned by senior Tucker Fogelson in the 800-meter event, while three sophomores earned Honorable Mention as well. Tyler Fogelson in the 400-meter, Cray Silva in the 1600-meter, and Ryan Allen in the High Jump.

Girls Track and Field: Senior Hailee Huddleston earned first team honors in the Javelin event while second team honors went to senior Aliyah Villasenor in the 200-meters and junior Aliyah Finch in the High Jump. Senior Mireya Garibay earned Honorable Mention in the 1600-meter.
