High School basketball is back in season as evidenced by the playing of the annual jamboree on Monday night at Chelan High School. A nice crowd was on hand as Girls and Boys teams from Manson, Pateros and Chelan took part with the host school squads coming out on top. The Chelan teams posted victories over Pateros and Manson to finish 2-0 respectively.

The first contest of the night featured the Manson Lady Trojans against Pateros. The Nannies claimed the victory 11-3. In their second contest, Pateros would lose to Chelan 17-6. The Lady Goats followed up their win over Pateros with a convincing 19-5 victory over Manson. Chelan finished play 2-0, Pateros 1-1 and Manson 0-2.

On the boys side of the jamboree, Pateros opened play against Manson and the Billygoats came from behind to nip the Trojans 15-14. Chelan got the better of Pateros 28-12 in their matchup and the Goats would later post a hard fought 19-16 win over Manson. The Goats went 2-0 on the night, Pateros finished 1-1 and Manson went 0-2 after dropping two very close games.

The Jamboree is a great opportunity for coaches to give players an opportunity to compete before the regular season begins. For Chelan, the season opens on the road this Thursday at Cle Elum with a varsity doubleheader starting with the Girls at 6:00 pm and the Boys to follow. The Manson Trojans begin their regular season this Saturday by hosting Lake Roosevelt with the Girls game to tip-off at 6:00 pm and the Boys to follow.
