Public Comment Welcomed Prior to Appointment of New Fire Commissioner

Interest has been unusually high for filling the vacant Commissioner seat on Chelan Fire & Rescue District #7 Board of Commissioners. There are now a total of 6 prospects to choose from.
Those who filed applications by last Friday were:
- Karyl Oules
- Nancy Balomey
- Karl Jonasson
- Jacques “Butch” Sims
- Jay Witherbee
- Cameron Skip Morehouse
Fire District Officials told us that the Chelan Fire and Rescue Commissioners – Russ Jones and Phil Moller — will appoint a candidate at the Regular meeting on Wednesday, May 14th.
Fire Commissioner Russ Jones told usLakeChelanNow that the public will be allowed to comment at the opening of the May 14th meeting, and that both he and Commissioner Moller have been getting a number of emails from the public expressing their support for the various candidates.
