Fire District Urges Habitual Seat Belt Usage

Information and Photos submitted by Douglas County Fire District No. 4

Orondo Fire, Chelan Fire Rescue, Ballard Ambulance and Douglas County Sheriff responded to the report of an auto accident on Brays Loop road above Sun Cove just after 6:30 PM Tuesday evening.

On arrival fire units found one vehicle overturned in the eastbound ditch. The driver had been ejected during the crash and was found some distance from the vehicle. He was treated at the scene for life threatening injuries and then transported to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.

It appears that the westbound vehicle lost control, went upon the steep embankment on the eastbound side overturning. The driver, who was likely unbelted, was ejected through one of the windows.

The Orondo Fire Department would ask you to please always wear your seat belt.
