Nygreen and Pearl Earn Recognition as Lake Chelan School District’s Employees of the Year

The Lake Chelan School District’s 2017-18 Employees of the Year – Jessica Nygreen and Jeff Pearl – will be honored during the North Central Education Service District’s Annual Excellence Banquet on April 26th.

Each year, the school district staff nominate co-workers as Employee of the Year for their positive impact, school and community involvement, innovation, leadership, work performance and acts of service above and beyond.

The 2017-18 Employees of the Year were recently announced, followed by some of the nomination comments which were supplied by the Lake Chelan School District:

Classified Employee of the Year: Jessica Nygreen, CMS/CHS Counseling Assistant and School Registrar

· Jessica serves our staff, students and parents, administrators with amazing efficiency while making everyone feel cared for, valued and important.
· Her welcoming demeanor is infectious; she greets everyone with a shining smile on her face.
· She is the ultimate team player and always puts the needs of others ahead of herself.
· Her greatest strength may very well be her ability to problem solve. She has a knack for making everything she touches better.
· She is incredibly smart, caring and humble. She sets the bar for how we want all of our school employees to perform
· She embodies the true spirit of our school district and is a model employee; she lifts everyone up by her attitude and personality.
· She is involved in many aspects of the school, volunteers for her church and she organized an amazing flash mob dance for the winter pep assembly!

Certificated Employee of the Year: Jeff Pearl, CMS Social Studies Teacher

· Jeff has the innate ability to build strong relationships with all students including our most challenging!
· He has high expectations for all students and they love being in his class.
· His classroom is highly engaging. He is a master at employing project based learning to build interest and authenticity in his lessons.
· His is highly involved in extra-curricular activities and has been instrumental in orchestrating school mission trips where he has inspired and attitude of service to others.
· He is the ultimate team player, he cares deeply about his students all of his co-workers and the community at large. He able to laugh at himself and has a great sense of humor.
· He has an inherent interest and desire to build and nurture a caring positive culture at the Middle School. This desire has led to be one of the main architects in building the WEB program at Chelan Middle School.
